Guan Yu's birthday celebrated with traditional opera

This June 7 was the 13th day of the fifth month in Chinese lunar
calendar, the birthday of Guan Yu, a Chinese Daoist god of war and
martial arts. To celebrate his birthday, stages were set up beside the
Guan Yu Temple in Quanzhou City to stage traditional Liyuan opera, one of
the oldest operas in China, and also puppet show, attracting many
citizens of all ages to watch.
